Joel DeHart tells his story of being kidnapped by a warlord while serving as a translator on a Christian animal health project in Afghanistan. Joel was born in Pakistan where his parents were missionaries. He returned to Pakistan to work in Afghan refugee camps, which led to teaching English. Joel and his wife Margaret later spent many years as NGO workers in Afghanistan. They currently work with Interserve in Canada.
